Video production is an essential tool for any marketer in 2020, but for non-profit organizations, they face their own set of unique challenges. Whether it’s working within a small budget or dealing with difficult subject matter, each charitable organization has to navigate these challenges while still producing effective digital content for their community as well as potential donors.
We’ve been collaborating with the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada for nearly ten years in producing creative video content for their donors and supporters. The CAFC is our country’s leading charity dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth growing up in the child welfare system. From a video marketing standpoint, there are many challenges with this:
- We’re dealing with youth
- These are difficult stories, often consisting of abuse and neglect at home
- Production budgets need to remain low
Working with their marketing team we are able to help produce years of professional video content through our youth mentorship program. Check out some of our work below!
BlackBelt produces spot-on, high-quality videos that are able to meet multiple objectives for our Foundation. Always professional and an absolute pleasure to work with, Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada gives BlackBelt the highest recommendation.

Events
The 33rd annual Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada Gala – Teddy Bear Affair brought together influencers from across Toronto to raise an incredible $1.8 million in support the vulnerable children and youth they serve.
Youth Stories
Climbing Cranes is a short film documentary about a small group of young people who grew up in Canada’s child welfare system including Children’s Aid Society. This video was produced with the intention of telling some of the difficult stories their young people face, as well as the support required to help them thrive.
Programs & Outreach
In this video, we explore how, through the generous support of Foundation donors, Pape Adolescent Resource Centre (PARC) helps youth leaving care to build necessary skills, like healthy relationships, cooking, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship skills. Programs like this help these youth to both care for themselves, to heal, and to build their confidence for a bright future.
Stand Up for Kids
Our video work has helped the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada raise millions of dollars through social media engagement, email marketing campaigns, and live events across the country.
