In collaboration with Pathways to Education Canada, we were proud to offer a two-day video production workshop for youth in Kitchener, ON. Run with the Carizon Family & Community Services, we trained youth on professional grade video cameras, lighting, audio recording and video editing equipment and procedures. This invaluable experience provided youth the opportunity to enhance their skills as they pursue careers and educational opportunities within the video and film industries.
Everyone was very excited with the final product especially since the youth were involved in acting, sound, lighting, editing and directing! Thank you Black Belt for being a mentor in our community and providing a real life opportunity for youth!

Oh, and we made a short film too
After training the youth on the many areas of video production, we decided the best way to learn, is by creating something as a team. We completed a scriptwriting and storyboarding session, acquired props and costumes, then starting work on a short Thriller film! Click the play button to watch the final film, if you dare 🙂
Why We Mentor
We believe that powerful videos are created through the collaborative process between clients, filmmakers and the communities in which we serve. Providing value to young people allows for an enriching film making process, while providing value to the client as well as the betterment of the community. We had an incredible time putting together this video production workshop and look forward to doing another.
